Born from the cutout forms of custom-made chairs, this series of “seats” carries the memory of function into the realm of sculpture. Layers of wood rise from the wall, their edges revealing the passage of hands and tools. Each surface is swept with fluid, unrestrained brushwork—one piece marked with the quiet strength of metal inlay. An acrylic clear coat preserves their shifting colors, while the paint runs freely over the edges, as if the motion refused to be contained.
